Lagoon Road – Rationel & Solarlux

Andrew and Nilu’s new-build holiday home in Pagham, near Chichester, West Sussex, was designed by their architect-trained daughter, Jhila. To complement the contemporary straw bale construction, Westcott Architectural Glazing supplied and installed Rationel AURA windows and doors throughout the main house and the two-bedroom annexe. They also installed a striking Solarlux Woodline Bi-Folding Door, which creates a seamless connection between the living space and the garden.

The homeowners wanted timber-framed windows and doors that offer security, durability, and excellent thermal performance. Consequently, they chose the Rationel AURA range in Beige Grey for its natural finish, high-quality materials, and sleek profiles. These windows flood the interiors with natural light while enhancing the home’s contemporary aesthetic.

Meanwhile, the Solarlux Woodline Bi-Folding Door provides a stunning focal point in the open-plan living space. Its expansive glass panels fold effortlessly, linking indoors and outdoors and offering panoramic views of the garden and lagoon. Designed for energy efficiency, security, and smooth operation, the Woodline door complements the Rationel AURA windows throughout the property.

Careful planning ensures daylight reaches every corner of the home. Tall, narrow fixed lights, glazed front doors, and mirrored skylights maximise natural illumination. Clerestory windows above the dining area, double casement windows capturing morning sunlight, and small opening panes in the main bedroom balance light, ventilation, and privacy.

Westcott Architectural Glazing managed the full supply and installation, guaranteeing that every window and door fits perfectly. As a result, Andrew and Nilu now enjoy a bright, comfortable, and welcoming holiday home. This Pagham property demonstrates how thoughtful glazing design, using Rationel and Solarlux, can enhance both form and function in a modern coastal build.

Two engineers, Fraser and Thomas, came out to my property to deal with a tricky VELFAC door issue after recent construction work on my roof. They worked tirelessly all morning to solve the issues. Now my doors work perfectly. Great professional service. Thank you guys!

We had a leak from our VELFAC windows, so we got in touch with Composite Windows (Westcott) for a fix. The windows are over 12 years old, so not unexpected! It was a simple process and they attended site about 2 weeks from our first contact. Turns out the problem was not with the windows, but from the roof above. Jack was very Proffesional and really took his time looking at every possible other reason for the leak. To be fair he was right! What made the visit so impressive in my view was it would have been so easy to say “it’s not the window you need to call a roofer”. Jack did a repair job sealing up the possible problems on the roof and did a very nice job. Now that I know the job may not be a long term fix, but the very fact that he went out of his way to find a solution says a lot about him and the company. This was not a flying visit about 2 hours were spent finding and fixing the problem. Nice to find a company who cares and goes the extra mile. I may still have a leak at some points but at least they tried, that i fully respect and appreciate.
