FAQs

What door series does Spitfire offer?

Spitfire offer five door series, each designed for a different brief. The S200 and S500 are aluminium entrance doors at different specification levels. The S400 is a premium timber door. The S600 and S700 are pivot doors — floor-to-ceiling rotating doors that make an architectural statement at the entrance. Westcott supply and install the full range across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey.

Are Spitfire doors available in bespoke sizes?

Yes. Every Spitfire door is manufactured to order and can be specified to your exact dimensions within each series’ size range. The S600 pivot door is available up to 1,500mm wide and 2,500mm tall as standard; the S700 can reach up to 2,000mm wide and 6,000mm tall for larger or double-height openings. Contact us with your drawings or dimensions and we can advise on the right series for your project.

What is a pivot door and is it suitable for my property?

A pivot door rotates around a top-and-bottom pivot mechanism rather than opening on traditional side hinges. This allows the door to be made wider and taller than a conventional hinged door, creating a distinctive, high-end entrance with a smooth, sweeping movement. Pivot doors are particularly well suited to contemporary homes, self-build projects and properties where the entrance is intended to make a strong visual statement. They do require adequate clearance on both sides of the pivot point, so we can advise on suitability during your consultation

How secure are Spitfire entrance doors?

Spitfire entrance doors are designed with security as a key part of the system, combining robust aluminium construction with high-quality multi-point locking. Many Spitfire door ranges, including selected hinged and pivot entrance doors, are available with recognised security certifications such as PAS 24, depending on the model and configuration.

Security performance can vary by door series, size, glazing, locking system and specification, so we will confirm the relevant security rating for your chosen door as part of the quotation process. For projects where PAS 24 or Secured by Design compliance is required, please let us know at the outset so we can ensure the correct specification is selected.

Does Westcott supply Spitfire doors or install them as well?

Westcott supply and install. We handle the full process from specification and ordering through to installation — working alongside your architect, builder or directly with you if you are managing the project yourself. We cover Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey and the wider South of England. Supply-only is available for certain trade and contractor projects — please get in touch to discuss.

Sacha & Paul, Winchester

We’re thrilled with the windows and glad we held out for Velfac. It’s looking really smart. Many thanks again for making it relatively stress free. We’ll be recommending you if anyone wants to follow suit!

Simon, United Kingdom

Ordered a door c/w side window for our porch, to match the existing windows that had been fitted by the builders when the house was extended. Easy company to deal with, whether by phone or email & a great job done by the fitters on the day. Everything went as planned & I am planning on using them again, for the next phase of works.

Alistair, Haywards Heath

What makes this company stand out is outstanding customer service from start to finish. I had VELFAC 200 Energy windows installed for a new self-build so attention to detail was paramount. Composite Windows came to site multiple times before, during and after fitting to ensure the product was perfect. When one of the larger units was difficult to close, they sent their engineers to adjust it but still determined it wasn’t perfect, so replaced the entire unit. Its the service we all would hope companies strive to deliver but we typically settle for less. Composite windows really did deliver on my project. They have a great team in the office and at site. I would definitely use them in subsequent projects.
