What is a Wintergarden? A thermally insulated glazed roof structure that can be enjoyed all year round. All of Solarlux’s sliding, bifolding and fixed glazing is compatible with the structure so whatever your needs, Solarlux has the solution. There is no better way to bring the outdoors, indoors without the ned for an internal door between the existing and new space.

A Wintergarden can be designed to suit any style of property or commercial space. Ventilation, heating and lighting options can all be incorporated and automated for extra comfort.

All products are available in any RAL colour. There are 30 standard RAL colours to choose from, available in either a gloss or matt finish. In addition, you can upgrade to a non-standard finish, such as anodised, if desired. Furthermore, these options allow you to customize the appearance as well as suit your specific design preferences.

Design Features

• Roof system with full thermal insulation. Tested and certified in accordance with EN ISO 10077.
• Powder-coated and rounded profiles join together to form a harmonic unit. The design has a timeless elegance.
• Roof pitches from 5° to 45° available. Wall joint allows for simple installation. Bearings allow the hinge profile to fit into the hinge of the roof pitch.
• Designed for roof glazing thicknesses of 28 to 44 mm with glass support on 4 sides. Pane recess, glazing rebate ventilation and glazing rebate drainage comply with glass industry requirements.
• The arris beams have a built-in cover and are connected to the hinge profile without any visible screws, allowing all kinds of customised designs.
• The comprehensive range of profiles means you can always find the right option to suit the size and structural requirements of your wintergarden. Plug-in chambers in the load-bearing profiles offer scope for steel reinforcement. This facilitates large roof constructions and maximum opening widths and spans.

Design Features

• We carefully install the elements with enough clearance from the pillars and gutter, so that they can expand freely when temperatures fluctuate. Additionally, this spacing is maintained consistently to prevent any issues. We fill the space with backer rod or compound foam.
• All elements are installed against the element rebates, with the sufficient clearance from the pillars and eaves. This compensates for construction and manufacturing discrepancies.
• The thermally insulated pillars with exterior element rebates fit all element depths between 50 and 80 mm, and are installed without any visible screws. Glass moulding around the pillars and eaves provides the necessary interior support.
• Available side rafters guarantee the same thermal insulation under the rafters as throughout the profile system, without any additional beams. The 24 mm exterior rebate with additional seal profile ensures that the elements can be installed without any problem, even under the side rafters. Flat aluminium material provides the interior support for the elements under the side rafters.
• The roof system has a horizontal gutter for drainage, which runs into a downpipe masked by a cover. The mid rail that divides the glass is form-fitted between the rafters, and can transfer the load from the panes to them without any problem. The cascading drainage design ensure optimum drainage of any condensation that forms around the mid rail and wall rail.
• Gutter joints are force-fitted with the gutter connectors for connections that fit perfectly at any angle.
• Wintergarden ventilation via high-quality manual or electric skylights and/or dosing or roll ventilator with automatic control system, depending on customer requirements.
• The wintergarden can be lit elegantly using spotlight profiles clipped on under the roof rafters, with spotlights and transformers pre-installed at the factory.
• Structural analysis tables are available for construction and calculation purposes during the design phase. In addition, property-specific structural analyses for the system are prepared shortly before order fulfilment to ensure accuracy.

Design Features

• We completely prefabricate the wintergarden roof construction before delivery, and as a result, this significantly reduces installation time. Moreover, by prefabricating the components in advance, we ensure a faster and more efficient on-site assembly. You can install the wintergarden immediately on site without any additional manufacturing work. We pre-fit all end pieces and pre-drill the downpipe where applicable. We also pre-drill the rafter connections, insert the screws and connectors into the profiles, and pre-drill all ventilation holes. The adjustable foot brackets make it easy to fine-tune the alignment of the roof construction.
• The sophisticated roof system does not require silicone insulation.
• Drawings in your order confirmation show the exact element dimensions so you can manufacture the elements and plan delivery. For monopitch roofs, we include the glass dimensions with the order confirmation; for other roofs, we calculate and send them separately. This reduces installation costs and keeps the end customer satisfied.
• Solarlux recommends using the following vertical elements: Ecoline, Highline and SL 82.
