The aim of the Driftwood project was simple. The homeowners wanted to create a modern and energy-efficient home with views of the sea from every main living space.

After moving into the property in 2021, they completely remodelled the house and added a two-storey rear extension. As part of the redesign, they focused on opening up the home and making the most of the coastal setting.

Choosing the Right Glazing

The homeowners wanted a durable window system with excellent thermal performance. To explore the available options, they visited our Portsmouth showroom. After reviewing the range, they chose VELFAC triple-glazed windows for the project.

The contemporary design, durable materials and energy-efficient performance made VELFAC the ideal choice for Driftwood. In addition, the homeowners selected solar control glass to help reduce excess heat during warmer months.

A Complete Glazing Solution

Alongside VELFAC windows, the project features a Solarlux SL 179 lift-and-slide door and a Rationel Aura Plus sliding door. Together, these products provide the durability and thermal performance required for a coastal property.

Composite Windows UK supplied and installed all glazing products for the project. The team managed everything from the initial survey through to installation. In total, they installed 20 VELFAC windows, five Rationel sliding doors and one Solarlux sliding door.
