Villa Aalto – VELFAC V200

Villa Aalto – featuring the VELFAC V200 window and door system – now stands on the site of a once-dated chalet bungalow. The property sits just metres from the coast in a highly sought-after Hampshire location, and the original nondescript structure offered enormous potential for a dramatic transformation.

Architect Carl Leroy Smith designed Villa Aalto with inspiration drawn from Finnish architect Alvar Aalto’s iconic Villa Mairea, one of the most famous houses of the early 20th century. His design reflects this influence throughout the home.

The house includes VELFAC V200 patio doors on both the ground and first floors, and the upper-level doors open onto a striking wrap-around balcony. These expansive windows flood the living and dining areas with natural light and brighten the first-floor bedrooms as well. Externally, the aluminium sashes feature an anthracite grey powder-coated finish. Internally, the timber frames painted in “Pebble Grey” create a warm and welcoming look.

I have had Velfac windows and external doors for 12 years. One window was not fitted properly by the developer (not Westcott) and had been leaking and needed replacing. The window was on a 4th floor flat and access difficult. Westcott were recommended by Dovista and Westcott worked timely from survey to order and then to sync with scaffolders dates to install. The guys had difficulty getting the frame up to 4th floor but they stripped it down and hoisted it up to the 4th floor. The job was professionally completed in a day.
