Marshall House – VELFAC V200
Designed by Paul Cashin Architects, Marshall House VELFAC V200 is an extension to a Grade II listed dwelling in the village of Twyford, Hampshire. The original house dates back to the 17th Century.
The extension is accessed via a small link that provides a clear distinction between the old and new structures. The link aims to have the effect of walking through a portal into a seemingly different dwelling, that is modern, bright, light and airy with clean lines and white walls. Marshall House – VELFAC V200 windows and doors have been specified to achieve this. These have been strategically placed in order to cast light over walls and corners. Creating little nooks and private views.
Externally, black painted larch cladding is used as the primary material. The external aluminium sashes are powder coated black to blend into the surrounding cladding. The black finish of the extension contrasts with the white painted brickwork at the rear and side of the original house.
The impact of unwanted solar gain has been actively mitigated by the specification of manually opening VELFAC units and a motorised VELUX flat rooflight which together maintain good air circulation.

What Our Clients Say

I had 18 windows and doors replaced with Rationel and Westcott Construction were the recommended supplier. Josie was very helpful while we got the exact specification sorted out, and was always quick to reply on email. The fitters were very friendly and helpful, and the attention to detail was excellent. Everyone turned up when they said they would and completed the job on time. This is a very well organised company who it has been a pleasure to work with.

We were very impressed with Composite Window’s professional service. They are knowledgeable about their range of excellent products and keen to match competitor prices. The showroom in Portsmouth is very useful for seeing the quality of the doors and windows and, of course, meeting the team!

When ordering the windows, we made numerous changes along the way. They were very quick to update the order and help with questions along the way. Their installation team was good and were able to overcome a few quirks in our existing house. I was doing the following on decoration works after the windows were fitted. A couple of aspects made it difficult to finish up around the newly installed windows. Shims and metal plates were left in need of grinding back in order to get a plasterboard back up against the window internally. This was perhaps inevitable however, due to the old Victorian check reveals in the brickwork and some very out of square existing openings. On the whole we are very pleased.
