Located opposite Southsea Common and the scenic beach views, this project involved the complete renovation and refurbishment of two basement flats and their transformation into contemporary living spaces.
In the first flat, the team removed the old entry staircase, which created ample space for a new master bedroom and walk in wardrobe. The unused space, at the top of the old stairs, was turned into a small nook, accessible by ladder – perfect for storage or a relaxation space.
The finished flat boasted a fully fitted kitchen with hallway access to the master bedroom, bathroom and open plan living/ dining room. The vast living space was featured with the original exposed brick work and vibrant contemporary wallpaper to create a statement feature wall.
In the second flat, the team set to work to create an open plan living area. Combining the kitchen, dining room and living room allowed to maximise the natural light provided through the VELFAC windows and doors.
The master bedroom was remodelled with a back lit, built in wardrobe, ensuite bathroom and access to an external patio. The room was finished with a warm neutral colour scheme and pale oak flooring to emphasise the newly introduced natural lighting.
Outside at the rear of the property, the team built into the surrounding bank to extend the land and introduce a courtyard. This new courtyard was made accessible through the V200 VELFAC French doors in the living room and master bedroom.
For a final modern finish, the two flats were fitted with smart phone controlled under floor heating. Both flats were revamped from damp, dark areas and transformed into contemporary, state of the art living space.
