Boom Tower boasts outstanding panoramic views over Portsmouth Harbour, the Solent and toward the Isle of Wight. Situated at the harbour entrance, Boom Tower’s architecture was inspired by the Tudor maritime defence, designed to protect the harbour from invasion.
Work involved the refurbishment of the roof area, including the creation of a terrace with a pool and seating area. This involved the installation of a resistance pool on the roof, overlooking the Solent. To complete this, over 30 galvanised steel beams were installed to support to the new 15 tonne pool.
To complete the works, frameless, sleek glass balustrading was installed around the extended deck and the steelwork. A walk- on circular glass roof light was installed to create a feature for the roof. The whole terrace was then finished with smart look Millboard deck, to create a sophisticated look.
These final touches make the roof terrace a perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning 360 views in ultimate comfort!
