Before renovation work commenced, 63 Festing Grove was a tired Edwardian semi, with an un-sympathetic 1960’s extension. The house had been divided into three flats, the sea view to the front and mature trees to the rear apparently forgotten.
The key to this project was to blend old with new and maximise the fabulous views. A contemporary design was chosen placing anthracite grey windows next to larch cladding and white render. Window openings were enlarged to create French doors with Juliet balconies. The old single storey extensions to the rear were demolished to create a beautiful courtyard accessed by three sets of external doors.
A full refurbishment was undertaken which involved moving the staircase to create a galleried landing. The third floor was remodelled to create a master suite boasting a delightful Juliet balcony plus a large bathroom – all with a great outlook. A new kitchen was installed and three bathrooms.
